For the last 30 years I have practiced civil law in Arlington, Texas. As a general practice attorney, I assist individuals and families through sometimes difficult transitions in life. Probate services help families to deal with the property and financial issues left by the loss of a loved one. Family law deals with the unique dynamics of changes in the structure of a family which requires compassionate legal advise. Real estate law assists individuals in buying or selling property, clearing title to real property and lawsuits regarding ownership issues.
For the last 28 years I have practiced bankruptcy law for individuals and small businesses. Bankruptcy services assist individuals who have encountered severe financial difficulties caused by medical problems, loss of income, divorce or other unfortunate circumstances. My goal is to provide compassionate and excellent representation in all facets of your bankruptcy case. Additionally, I have 30 years experience in real estate and probate law which often impact bankruptcy cases.

I was born in Topeka Kansas. I grew up in Kansas riding horses and spent summers working construction for my family’s electrical contracting business. My family moved to Arlington, Texas in June, 1974. I am a long time Rangers fan (my assistant says I am a fanatic). I graduated from Lamar High School in 1975 and went to college at Trinity University in San Antonio graduating in 1979. I served in the Army Reserve/National Guard from 1980 – 1988. I spent a very hot summer in 1980 at Fort Benning Georgia for infantry training (11B Infantry) after my first year of law school. Commissioned as an Armor Officer in May, 1982 (UTA – ROTC) at the same time I completed my juris doctorate at the SMU School of Law.
For the last 28 years my focus has been on raising three children, practicing law and serving as a Bible study leader (BSF) and teaching Sunday School for 2 and 3 year olds. My experience has taught me God’s love for everyone through the study of the Bible and especially through teaching preschool children who are a great witness to God’s unconditional love.
I have been married to Becky Hixson for 29 years. We have three children who are grown and on their own (No grandchildren yet). Both Becky and I are blessed to have our mothers and other extended family living in Arlington and North Texas.
